PSA Race Up the Bay

Greetings RUTB racers, we've just posted the Final Results.  A few comments about them:

- As mentioned multiple times at the post-race party, the results announced at MYC were provisional.  A software glitch prevented us from entering two boats and one was scored DNF.  We have rectified that situation.

- After further analysis, we decided to use MED/LIGHT to score the VPP fleets. We also used MOSTLY WINDWARD as the course configuration.  Even though the breeze was significant at the start, by the time we got to Rock Creek we sat there at “B” and had a series of conversations about whether we needed to shorten at “BB” …or even at “N.”  A nod to technology and AIS that allowed us to see that LUCKY 8 and HOT PEPPER were doing nicely at 6+ kn SOG so that settled that.

As always, we appreciate any feedback you want to contribute. We are on a constant mission to make improvements on OUR JOB as Race Committee and Signal Boat.  We can't get better unless you (politely) point out things we could do a better job of doing!

Special thanks to all the folks at MYC - Lee and Jon especially (and anyone else at the club) and for all the folks from PSA who made the long drive over from Blackhole Creek :-)

Racers, we hope you survived the nor'easter of this past weekend and can look forward to getting out for the PSA Race Up the Bay. We are one short day away from racing. Here are a few details for the Post-Race Party. A reminder that rendezvous is 1040hrs at the Baltimore Light and there is a mandatory check in.

Look for the SIs on the Notice Board by 1600 today (2 October)

The after party will be held at the Maryland Yacht Club pavilion. 
The oysters arrive at 2pm. 
Larry the Six Stringed Sailor will be providing musical entertainment. 
Beefalo Bob's is providing the dinner at 4pm with a cost of $20 per person.
 -This consists of Pit beef, Pit Ham, Pit Turkey Shredded Beef BBQ plus sides of mac-n-cheese, cole slaw, potato salad and baked beans.
Each sailor will receive a Dark & Stormy cocktail, plus on hand is beer and sodas.

--if you were unable to use the discount code listed, MYC Harbor Master has indicated they would refund slip fees for racers.
