Subject: Poplar Race Update - Race on as Scheduled Sent: 04/25/2026 06:14 pm GMT Ahoy Racers!
Based on feedback and the latest weather models, unless something unforeseen happens, the race is on.
The two spin boats moved to non-spin. So there will be two starts. First is multi-hulls and second is non-spin.
PLEASE give each class room to start. Non-spin please stay clear of the multi-hull boats starting. Also, please do not crowd the RC given potential gusty race conditions.

Subject: CHESSS Poplar Island Race - Update 4/25/2026 at 10:45 am Sent: 04/25/2026 02:56 pm GMT Ahoy Racers! First, the SIs for the race have been updated to include 3 starts: 1) Multihull 2) Non-Spin 3) Spin, if participants do not move to Non-Spin due to their weather considerations. These updated SIs also note that the race committee may perform signals over radio Channel 68 with or without flags. Finally, we are monitoring weather conditions for tomorrow's pre-race, race, and post-race conditions. The forecast notes gusts in excess of 20 kts, approaching 30+ kts. If this forecast remains, I would like to hear from you if you would still plan to race. Please confirm via email at revolution4515@gmail.com by 5 PM EDT. If you have other thoughts, don't hesitate to reach out to me directly. I want to thank Eunice Lin & Ted Slotwinski for volunteering to be our Race Committee. Finally, I did get my boat launched yesterday and am working to get sails aboard and prep done to race, pending forecast.
