Browns Creek Sailing Association and Lake Guntersville Sailing Club is honored to host the Mayor’s Cup Regatta and would like to invite all sailors to participate in this third annual event. The regatta is being held in the area of City Harbor, Guntersville, AL. The event is a joint effort to promote the sport of sailing.
The race shall be governed by the World Sailing Rules of Racing 2025-2028. The 2014 Portsmouth Handicapping System shall be employed to handicap the event, spinnaker, and headsail adjustment factors. All sailing yachts shall be eligible for entry and shall be handicapped accordingly. The skippers' meeting will be held on Friday, May 30th at 19:00 at the North Alabama Sailing Marina (NASM) in Guntersville, AL.
The race's warning signal is scheduled to be made on Saturday, May 31st at approximately 10:00 for dinghies and keelboats and at approximately 13:00 for the youth class, in the vicinity of City Harbor. The sailing instructions are posted on the BCSA website. Expected classes include: Youth, Dinghy, Keelboat Spinnaker, & Keelboat Non-Spinnaker.
Fees:
Regatta Entry $35.00 - includes one t-shirt and one meal. Youth entry is $25. You must register on NextSailor by May 18th to recieve a t-shirt!
