"60/40" Round the Island Race
Fort Walton Yacht Club
June 19–21, 2026
Join this historic sailing adventure around beautiful Santa Rosa Island.
We guarantee outstanding scenery, great people, warm water, and happy winds. The only limitation is a 45-foot bridge clearance.
Schedule of Events
Friday
• 5:00–6:00 PM — Check-In & Late Registration at AJ’s on the Bayou
• 6:00–7:30 PM — Skippers Meeting & Dinner at AJ’s on the Bayou
Saturday
• Sail approximately 60 miles from FWYC, through Destin Pass, west across the Gulf of Mexico, through Pensacola Pass, and finish at Key Sailing on Quietwater Beach.
• A “Bermuda Start” format sends Hobie 16s and WETAs off at sunrise, with progressively faster boats starting later throughout the morning. Every boat has a legitimate chance to finish first — your finish order is your scored position.
• Saturday evening features a gourmet dinner at Pensacola Beach Yacht Club, an easy walk from the finish area.
Sunday
• The first start is at 7:30 AM for the 40-mile return race to Fort Walton Beach along the scenic Intracoastal Waterway.
• Progressive starting times will once again compress the fleet toward a close finish at FWYC, where camaraderie and stories will be in full supply.
• Trophies, food, and refreshments await competitors at the FWYC gazebo following the finish.
Additional Information
• Enter before June 5 to receive the discounted entry fee.
• Cat Trax and dry clothes bags will be transported to the finish locations.
